Meet Jerry, a gentle soul with a big heart and so much love to give! Rescued alongside his brother Ben and two other dogs from a field near busy highways, Jerry has been on an incredible journey of trust and transformation. Initially shy, he has warmed up to the caring volunteers who have helped him discover his playful and affectionate side.

Jerry enjoys his time with his brother but is ready to shine on his own if adopted separately. With a little patience, love, and encouragement, Jerry will thrive in a home where he can feel safe and cherished. This sweet boy is eager to find his perfect match and become a loyal and loving companion!

Interview

All pet adoptions require an interview with an AAR adoption team member before the application is approved.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If the application is approved, the adopter signs the contract and pays the adoption fee.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Potential cat adopters: please bring a cat carrier to the interview.

Additional adoption info

To adopt a pet from AAR, potential adopters must fill out AAR's adoption application and interview with an adoption team member. If approved, an adoption agreement is signed and fees paid.

Adoption Fees:
Dogs/puppies 6 months of age and older $175
Puppies under 6 months of age $200
Cats $50.00
Kittens $75.00
The fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and all adoptable animals are current on vaccinations and worming.

Cat and Dog Adoption Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m and Sunday from 11am - 3pm

Since AAR is an all-volunteer organization, adoption hours (and answering the phone) are subject to volunteer availability. You may drop in, or you may want to call first to confirm that the adoption center is staffed: 281-789-4142.

Abandoned Animal Rescue is a no-kill dog / cat shelter located in Magnolia serving Northwest Harris and Southern Montgomery Counties in Texas. It is staffed by dedicated volunteers devoted to saving the lives of homeless and unwanted companion animals.

AAR's mission is to work towards ending pet overpopulation that results in the euthanasia of unwanted cats and dogs. We do this by providing a rescue and adoption center, by emphasizing the importance of spaying and neutering and by educating on humane animal ownership. AAR is committed to the emotional, physical, and behavioral well being of each animal in our care.

All animals surrendered to the shelter are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and wormed; dogs are tested for heartworms and, if positive, are treated.

All operating money for AAR comes from
clinic and adoption fees, donations, and fundraisers. AAR receives no government money.
