KIRA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:   Kira          Best Guess for Breed:  German Shepherd mix 

Best Guess for Age:  6 months as of January 2025          SEX:   Female

Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   28 lbs as of 12/28/24; she is still growing!

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them.

Currently Living at:  Shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!

Kira is Looking For:   A forever family who is eager to have a super smart, active pup who grows up and grows old with them. Shelter staff describe Kira as a happy, bouncy girl who is excited to meet new people and explore new things. She is very treat motivated and learned 'sit' very, very fast once she realized treats were involved. She's got that German shepherd temperament where she thrives on routine and training. 

She loves high-energy play with other dogs and would enjoy meeting new pup pals. She's also incredibly eager to accompany her humans on sniffy walks around the neighborhood and all the adventures they can dream up - she wants to see the world! Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved, where she belongs. 

This pup is gonna grow into an awesome, smart, enthusiastic, active - and utterly loyal companion. What do you say? Will she be yours?

What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.

Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!
