My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I`m a high-profile pet, which means my adoption fee will be different than the standard fees; ask an OK Humane staff member how I`m helping other pets with a different adoption fee!

Meet Dash: The Remarkable Pup with a Unique Talent! Dash is a big, lovable young mixed breed with energy to spare and a heart full of potential. His most unique trait? Dash understands sign language! His previous owner was deaf, so Dash already knows some hand signals and is eager to learn even more.

This playful pup is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs and would make an excellent playmate for a canine sibling. He’s incredibly smart, trainable, and thrives on mental stimulation and positive reinforcement. Whether it’s learning new tricks, exploring the outdoors, or practicing his sign language skills, Dash loves to stay busy and engaged.

Though he’s a bundle of energy, Dash can be a little timid at first and needs a patient, understanding person to help him build confidence. With kindness and reassurance, he’ll blossom into the best version of himself.

Dash hasn’t been around cats or kids yet, so slow introductions would be best if there are any in his future home. He’s looking for an active, loving family ready to give him the time, attention, and encouragement he deserves.

If you’re looking for a loyal, clever companion who’s ready to learn and grow by your side, Dash might be the perfect addition to your family!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process
We have an open adoption policy, so there is no application or interview process. We simply ask that you meet the pet in person before adoption. We have adoption specialists that will help you find the right pet for your family.

Adoption Center
The Adoption Center is located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Our Adoption Center is a totally new concept in Oklahoma City where dogs have comfortable, expanded kennels and cats stay in “living rooms” with furniture and toys.

Pets by Appointment
Some amazing dogs get stressed out in a kennel environment like our Adoption Center, and much prefer staying at their foster home until they find their new family. If you see a dog on our website that says “E-Mail to Meet Me” that means that this furry friend is just a click away from getting a ride to the Adoption Center to meet you in person.

Adoption Fees
Adult dogs are $150 to adopt, puppies are $200 to adopt, adult cats are $75 to adopt and kittens are $95 to adopt. All of our pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, treated with all age-appropriate vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative prior to being cleared for adoption, so we put a lot of effort and monetary investment into each of our animals including a two-week quarantine period in a foster home. These adoption fees help cover the costs of our animals’ health and well-being!
