My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frankie is a 6 year old male who needs a special adopter. He was originally rescued off the streets of Indiana in single digit weather just before Christmas. He was quickly adopted, then dumped off, and then adopted again and had lived with his adopters until just a few months ago when life happened and they had to surrender him to a shelter, where it was learned that he is heartworm positive. Frankie does have some quirks - he cannot be around other dogs or cats, and will resource guard things he deems to be high value such as toys, treats and food. For this reason he needs a home with no young children, and he also needs a secure fence. He has successfully completed a 3 week behavior modification course through Rhino K9 in Germantown and is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He will need to be kept on heartworm prevention for the rest of his life. He is so deserving of a great forever home, he is a great boy despite his quirks.

More about this rescue

Preble County Pittie Committee strives to make a positive difference in the lives and welfare of "the underdog". Our goal is to rescue pit bulls who would otherwise be euthanized in shelters and place them in forever homes that make them forget they were ever almost a statistic. In a world where unfair discrimination and willful ignorance can be a death sentence for these dogs, we strive to educate the general public and show that pit bull heads are almost as big as their hearts, all they need is a chance to prove it.
