Boomer is an owner rehome-please contact Morgan at 5402901682
Boomer is looking for a new home! Boomer is 35 lbs in a lab body and dachshund legs. Boomer is house-trained and has lived well with adults and bigger dogs. He can be dog-selective, he likes who he likes—no exposure to cats. It's best not to live with small kiddos.
He is very loyal and affectionate to his person/people, following them until they sit down and he can seize the opportunity to sit in a lap. Will bark at everyone but quick to warm up to new adults. He likes chew toys and playing but is happiest snuggling next to a warm body. Not shy about making his presence known. Treat-motivated and willing to learn new tricks. Likes to go on walks and smell the grass. Does best in a harness as he does pull if something interests him but otherwise happy to stay by your side. .
Boomer is house-trained and loves his person. Will you be it?
Boomer is healthy, and had a previous ACL surgery without any issues He is neutered and vaccinated for dhlpp, bordetella, and rabies. He has a 4DX heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Boomer is on monthly parasite prevenatives.
Also included in the adoption are 30 days of Pet First Pet Insurance, and Petco's Free Welcome to the Family Program. This program supports All New Pet Parents and offers Free resources, more than $650 in savings, and 24/7 support.

Our adoption process involves an application, application review, and adoption fee. You are welcome to visit or ask questions about any of our animals for adoption. Animals are in foster homes and can be met there or at a central location. We encourage all members of your family to meet the potential new addition. All animals receive preventative vaccinations, dewormer and flea/tick medication. We also participate in a pre-adoption spay/neuter program which decreases possible litters as well as expedites the adoption policy for the new family!

More about this rescue
Located in beautiful Highland County Virginia, the Highland County Humane Society is dedicated to promoting health, safety, welfare, compassionate care and protection of animals through a cooperative engagement with Highland County, its citizens, and other like-minded animal welfare groups. We are a group of dedicated volunteers and foster homes taking unwanted animals from the public as well as the Highland County Pound and neighboring animal shelters.
Our group consists of animal lovers and each of us believes that every animal deserves a loving home.
The HCHS is completely funded through membership donations, private and corporate sponsors, and fund raising events. Your tax deductible donation provides day to day care, veterinary services, food and shelter for the animals under our protection. We are a 501c3 organization formed in 2012 in response to a need in our county. We welcome any help and assistance you may be able to offer and we’d like to thank everyone who has been so supportive and helpful in our creation.
