A20813 Luna is a tan and black colored, approximately 2-year-old, 71-pound, spayed female, German Shepherd.
She entered the shelter an owner surrender on 01-01-2025 due to the fact the owner had medical issues making it impossible for her to care for her dogs.
Luna is a friendly, eager and excited girl here in the shelter. Our staff describes her as a friendly, high-energy girl. She loves people and jumps up on everyone she meets, for love and attention. She was a little difficult to leash because she was so excited to go for a walk. She did pull on the leash, excited to be out exploring, but takes correction well. She will need some training as she does not respond to any commands. She will need an experienced owner who will give her training to be her best family member. She is reactive to other dogs, barks and growls as they go by her kennel. However, she did come in with her brother and they are housed together. Luna will be a fun-loving family member in her new forever home.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
