Lola Bunny is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!
We first spotted Lola Bunny down at Chicago Animal Care and Control. She was so happy and wiggly, and loved other dogs. We had a great open foster home with another dog who could take her for a few days before they needed to leave town. Lola loves romping around with their dog, and settled in nicely. Lola has been spending the past few weeks in a different foster home without a dog, but with two humans and the occasional visit from grandbabies. Because Lola has lived in two homes in our care, we know a lot about her and her needs! For example, while she loves everyone, she herself is still a toddler in a way and may overwhelm a human toddler with her love! Lola needs to work on calm greetings!
Lola is crate trained and has not had any issues being left in one during the day. She sleeps on a dog bed beside her fosters at night, and sleeps through the night. During the day, she is pretty go go go, and may not always remember that she has to potty! Her foster mom is able to let her out frequently, but an adopter should expect to continue working on housebreaking as she adjusts.
Lola's foster mom writes, "In many ways Lola Bunny is like a puppy in a bigger package! She loves everyone and just needs someone with the patience to teach her how to be a great dog. She is eager to please and food motivated which makes it easier! She has made good progress on house-training and walking on a leash. She is crate trained, knows the command "sit" and will sit while waiting for her meals to be put down. She loves playing fetch and having a zoomie session in the yard, but is very relaxed in the house after playtime."
Lola Bunny’s adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
