My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scrappy may be small in size, but he’s big on personality. With his oversized ears and big, bright eyes, he’s a little ball of energy who’s always ready to take on the world (or at least, the backyard). Whether he’s chasing after his favorite squeaky toy or snuggling up for a nap in the sun, Scrappy is never far from the action.

He’s a proud protector of his home and loves to let everyone know that size doesn`t matter when it comes to guarding his family. Despite his tough exterior, he’s a total softie at heart, especially when he’s curled up on your lap or getting belly rubs.

Scrappy’s favorite things include treats, belly rubs, and his daily walks where he gets to show off his confident stride. His little tail never stops wagging.

This little guy may be small, but he’s got a big heart, and he’s always ready to spread some love to everyone he meets!

Scrappy`s adoption fee includes his neuter, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.

If you are interested in adopting Scrappy, you may fill out an application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet him first. We are open Tuesday – Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Go meet their pets

We do adoptions on the square in Dahlonega most weekends, attend various local events, have annual fundraisers, and our animals can be seen at the shelter any day from 10:00 - 4:30 (an hour for lunch from 12:00-1:00). Come by and see the new changes at the shelter as well, ask to volunteer, or just introduce yourself and meet the wonderful staff members.

More about this shelter

Established in 1977, TLC is one of the oldest no-kill shelters in North Georgia. Our shelter is on about six acres near the Lumpkin County shelter, and about five miles east of Dahlonega. Our focus is saving as many homeless pets as we can, and preventing the birth of unwanted pets. We have always relied on private donations to care for as many animals as we can.
