Hi my name is Samantha and I arrived here from the Bolivar City Pound. I am grateful they brought me here. The people are wonderful and made me feel right at home. This is temporary as I'm really really praying you will come and take me to my forever home. I am a 3 year domestic short hair and I have Russian Blue in me too! I'm a pretty girl with gorgous light green eyes.At the moment I am a wee bit shy but I love to be petted and I know I'll warm up to you. Please come in and adiopt me or you can do the process on their web site which is very easy to use. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.

Our Shelter is open every day from 10am-4pm, except Sundays. On Sundays, we are open from noon-4pm.

We are open for walk-ins, but we recommend appointments because some of our pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment with another potential adopter. We just don't want you to come to our location and be disappointed if you can't meet a pet you are interested in.
