My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Betty - Female - DOB- 6/26/2018 - Spayed

Sweet and Gentle Betty would love to be your faithful companion. Betty bonds very quickly with anyone who shows her affection and gives her attention. Betty actually just likes anyone who gives her food, LOL.

Betty's previous owner had addiction tendencies, and unfortunately ended up in jail. Betty was taken to the local vet clinic, where she needed to find a rescue before Christmas Day. She wasn't going to be able to stay at the vet clinic once the vet clinic closed on Christmas Eve. She didn't have much time......

THANKFULLY Betty is here and safe now! Betty is very respectful of cats and dogs alike. She doesn't get overly boisterous or excited about either of them. Betty gently interacts with kids of all ages, she is leash trained, kennel trained, and potty trained. She is so gentle that her hugs and kisses and "pawing for pets" is soft and sweet.

But Betty likes her Chew Bones. In Fact, Betty protects those bones. Betty is fairly underweight at the moment, she could easily afford to put on 5-10lbs. She is not protective of her food (probably because she eats it so fast there isn't time to protect it.... We have introduced a slow feeder to her over the last few days). We do not know what her previous life was like, or how long she may have been without consistent feedings/food.

Because of this, if you do want to give Betty a Rawhide/Big Chew Bone, we have found that she enjoys the comfort of her kennel while savoring every single bit of tastiness! In fact, we recommend that kennel time is when she gets those high value treats, she does better when left alone for long periods of time when she has yumminess to distract her.

All of this said, Today is 1/1/2025, and we have only had this sweet girl for approximately Ten Days. We are hopeful that once she is given a routine and consistent meals she will not be so protective of her Highly Prized Bones, but if she will always be that way.... A Kennel will solve that problem while she enjoys her favorite things!

More about this rescue

We want to revolutionize the way people think about animals and animal rescues. We want to educate people on the dangers of puppy mills and the realities of backyard breeders. We want to provide a loving home to all animals we encounter–the feral, the unwanted, the damaged and the lost. We believe every living thing not only deserves love but has so much love to offer. We accomplish our mission through our core values of love for all living things and faith that we can change our culture and create a world where rescues are no long needed
