My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya, I'm Larry. I'm so excited to meet you. So it all started when we had to go to a new place. Being so little I was so scared that I was shaking, but my brothers helped me calm down. It took me a while to get used to being away from my mommy but our foster mom ended up being so nice. She cleaned us and taught us a few new things. She's taught us all about wrestling, and encourages us to be more gentle when we get too rough playing (I may be small but don't let that fool you I pack a punch). I love playing with my brothers and toys. Especially my squeaky Kool-Aid Man. I'm working on getting better at this pottying stuff but I'm pretty good at it already as long as you take me out when I wake up and after I eat. Even though I started out a bit shy I am a social butterfly and the life of the party. I'm a very go with the flow kinda guy. But I don't want to miss out on any fun so when it's getting a bit past our bedtime and when my brothers and I are playing, I can barely keep my eyes open so it looks like I'm squinting. I am looking for a forever home where I can be the party and make it to bed at a decent time. I absolutely love a good snuggle with a blanket after play time. Please help me find a forever home. All dogs are fully vetted, have age appropriate core vaccinations, and have been spayed/neutered and microchiped. 100% of the adoption fees go back to helping us rescue more dogs.

Our adoption process consists of an application, phone or face to face interview, home visit and reference checks. If you are approved to adopt from Tails of the Unwanted, you will be required to sign an adoption contract.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs are placed in foster homes around North Carolina and currently in the Concord, Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, High Point and Salisbury areas. We want our dogs to be placed in a loving and caring home and will arrange meet and greets with approved adopters.

More about this rescue

We are a rescue that networks and promote shelter dogs at risk of being euthanized at high kill shelters. If no one comes to their rescue, we step in. We are always looking for fosters and donations as well as volunteers so that we can continue to save the dogs who have run out of time at the high kill shelters.
