My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Sassy is a lovely, independent young cat with a heart of gold — but she's a little on the shy side at first. While it may take her a little time to warm up to new people, once she feels safe and secure in her environment, she shows her true, gentle nature. Sassy isn't the type to demand attention, but she will allow cuddles and pets once she feels comfortable.

What We Know About Sassy:

  • A Slow Starter: Sassy will need patience and a quiet, calm environment to adjust to her new home. She may hide or take some time to come out of her shell, but once she trusts you, she’s a loving companion.
  • Cat-Friendly: She gets along well with other cats and enjoys their company once she’s settled in. Sassy appreciates having feline friends around, as it gives her the confidence to relax and be herself.
  • Dog-Friendly: Surprisingly, Sassy is also good with dogs! She takes a little while to warm up to them, but once she’s comfortable, she’ll happily coexist with well-mannered dogs, especially those who understand her need for space.
  • Quiet and Calm: Sassy is a high-energy cat when the mood hits but prefers a peaceful household. Loud noises and a lot of commotion are not her style, but in a tranquil home, she’ll thrive.

What Sassy Needs:

  • A Patient Home: Sassy needs a family who understands that building trust takes time. She’s not the kind of cat who will jump into your lap immediately, but once she bonds with you, you’ll be rewarded with her loyalty and affection.
  • A Calm Environment: Sassy does best in a quieter home, perhaps with older children who understand her need for space and gentle interactions.
  • A Feline or Dog Companion: Sassy would love to have another cat or a well-behaved dog for company. She’s social in her own way and enjoys the presence of other pets once she feels secure.

Why You’ll Love Sassy: Sassy may be a little reserved at first, but she is a sweet, loving soul who simply needs a bit of time to adjust. Once she feels comfortable with you, you’ll find that Sassy’s company is worth the wait. Her calm, laid-back nature will make her a wonderful companion in a quiet home, and she’ll give back all the love you put into building a bond with her.

If you have the patience and a calm household, Sassy will be your loyal and loving companion for years to come!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Email is the best way to get a fast response (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com).
