My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Marsha!

Marsha is a sweet, beautiful soul looking for her forever home! Born approximately November 6, 2014, Marsha came to us from a hoarding and neglect case, where she was rescued along with 69 other dogs. Now spayed, fully vetted, and groomed, Marsha is feeling much better and ready to leave the shelter behind for a loving, patient family.

Marsha had several teeth removed during her dental procedure and will need to be on soft, wet food for the rest of her life. Despite her past, Marsha is a gentle and kind dog who simply needs a home that will allow her to learn how to be a dog again. With some time, training, and understanding, she will thrive and become an even more loving companion.

Marsha would do well in a home with other dogs her size and older, respectful children, as she was not exposed to small children in her previous life. A quiet, patient home would be the perfect environment for her to continue adjusting and feeling safe.

If you are ready to give Marsha the retirement home she deserves, please apply online at eastshoreha.org. Once your application is processed and approved, our staff will reach out to schedule a personal meet-and-greet with Marsha.

Don’t wait—Marsha is ready to find her forever home. Apply today!

Additional adoption info

Before You Adopt: Please consider these factors before filling out an application:

1. Animals are expensive to care for. They require food, shelter, toys, grooming, and veterinary health and dental care.

2. Animals require attention. You have to clean up after their messes, protect them from anything that might harm them, and make sure they get adequate play time and exercise. Some require training, which takes patience, love, and commitment.

Adopting a Friend: Adopter will fill out an application to start the adoption process. We don't adopt on a first come, first served basis, but instead adopt based on what we feel is in the animal's best interest. We DO NOT ship animals.

Adoption Requirements:

1. Have verifiable identification

2. Be at least 18 years of age

3. If renting, have landlords consent to bring a pet to your home

4. All adopted pets must be spayed or neutered

5. All pets must leave the shelter on a collar and leash, or in a pet carrier

6. Agree to all terms of the adoption contract; ESHA reserves the right to deny any application
