Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Elvis! Elvis is a 1-year-old male black Lab/Pit mix, weighing about 45 pounds. This sweet and spirited pup was “Saved” from euthanasia six months ago and has been living with a kindhearted woman who gave him a second chance at life.
But Elvis is no “Hound Dog”—he’s a playful, energetic, and affectionate “big puppy” who’s ready to find his forever home. His lively personality is a bit too much for his current caretaker, so we’re helping him find a family that can keep up with his “Burning Love.”
If you’re ready to welcome a loyal companion who will never leave you “Lonesome Tonight,” Elvis is your guy! He’s got a heart full of love and a tail wag that will make you want to “Shake, Rattle, and Roll.”
Don’t miss your chance to make this charming pup your “Teddy Bear.” Reach out to meet Elvis today—he’s “All Shook Up” and waiting for his perfect match!
Elvis is available for adoption in the Greater Los Angeles area, and transport to other locations may be possible for his perfect match.

We ask you to begin by filling out an adoption application to express your interest in any of our animals. Once we receive the application and looked it over, we will contact you to answer any questions you may have about the pet and set up a meet and greet with the 4 legged friend you are interested in.
At that point, if you are interested in moving forward with the adoption, we will conduct a home check to make sure everything's good. We will ask you to sign an adoption agreement and ask for a donation for the adoption process.

More about this rescue
The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation was founded by Nancy and Katherine Heigl to celebrate the memory of a wonderful son and brother. In 1986, Jason was killed in a car accident. He was only fifteen years old.
Throughout his brief lifetime Jason loved all animals, especially dogs and cats and monkeys. He lived his life extending compassion and kindness to all creatures great and small. This foundation is his legacy.
The mission of the JDHF is to eliminate the needless suffering inflicted on animals by human cruelty, indifference, and ignorance. Our primary focus is the greater Los Angeles area, for now.
In pursuit of our mission, the JDHF routinely funds:
Our internal rescue group, the Heigl Hounds of Hope.
Other qualified rescue groups, via Networking donations.
The Transport of LA shelter dogs to states with great demand.
Free Spay Neuter procedures for the pets of qualified caretakers.
Compassion Education programs.
And we thank you for your support.
