Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rosie is the dog embodiment of perfection, and she is ready to start accepting applications! She has a spay appointment 1/7/25 and will be ready to move in to her new home after that!

💚 PROS:
• Extremely social with people: men, women, & small children. Actively seeks affection and gives the best snuggles on the couch. Does well with the 3-year-old and 1-year-old children in her foster home.
• Dog neutral and appropriately greets new dogs. Preference for male dogs as her housemates. She will occasionally play, but largely prefers coexistence with other dogs.
• Respectful of dog-savvy cats. She air snapped at our cat at first introduction, he swatted her a couple of times, and she has respected him since. She may not do well with a cat who would run from her.
• Crates well. She initially showed some minor separation anxiety which has not presented for several weeks, but we would recommend continuing to include crating her when home alone for a while to maintain her crate training and give her structured alone time.
• Understands a marker system, sit, down, and has a foundational recall. She is doing well with learning loose leash walking, but I would not say it is solidly generalized yet. We are working on place and proofing her known commands. I have not seen any leash reactivity even in busy park environments.
• Great environmental stability
• Rides well in the car
• Good food drive ; low toy drive though I have gotten some cooperative play using squeaky toys. She likes to play with squeaky toys by herself
• Has been doing well learning to tolerate nail trims
• Settles nicely in the home
💛 LESS THAN IDEAL:
• Less tolerant of female dogs in her living space. While she will not seek confrontation, living with several female dogs is not enjoyable for her. She will overcorrect female dogs if they attempt to initiate play with her when she does not want to play, regardless if she is at home or in neutral territory.
🏠 IDEAL HOME:
• Rosie could do well in most households. Somewhere she will be involved as a family member and receive lots of affection. She is a good medium energy.
• If there are other dogs, then she’d prefer male dogs. If there is another female, then a single, neutral female dog is preferred.
💊 HEALTH:
• UTD on vaccines
• Microchipped
• Will be spayed 1/7/25
• HW neg & current on monthly heartworm/flea/tick preventatives
• Approx. 18 months old
• 40-45 lbs
