Meet Max! He is a 6 month old blue heeler, with the most mesmerizing blue eyes, looking to find an active forever family to call his own. He can be fearful and nervous initially, but give him some time to get his bearings and his puppy side starts to shine through. Being an adolescent boy, he'll need a catch up course on all the general manners and life skills. He is still learning his leash skills, and building his confidence with new people. He may not mind having a like-minded active dog friend to learn from and grow with.

We ask that anyone in need of surrendering an animal call for an appointment. Our name reflects our geographic service area, not a governmental body. We are a nonprofit agency dependent on private donations and are not supported by tax dollars. As a "special admission" shelter we accept all animals in need, but we do utilize an appointment policy to ensure there is space for all incoming animals. Thanks to a dedicated and caring staff and volunteers, and the monetary contributions of so many compassionate individuals and businesses in our community, we offer our animals the best of care as they await their new forever home.
