Meet Phoenix! He is a 6 year old, brindle shepherdy mix boy on the lookout for a forever family to grow with. Phoenix, true to being a shepherd, can be wary of new human friends and is especially cautious with unfamiliar men. So is hoping to find a family up for building his confidence and helping him learn to trust more. Once he's deemed you friend material, he is a loyal lovebug who is ready for the next adventure with his humans. He would do best being the only dog in the home. He is a bit of an alert barker, so living in an apartment complex type environment may not be ideal for this boy.

We ask that anyone in need of surrendering an animal call for an appointment. Our name reflects our geographic service area, not a governmental body. We are a nonprofit agency dependent on private donations and are not supported by tax dollars. As a "special admission" shelter we accept all animals in need, but we do utilize an appointment policy to ensure there is space for all incoming animals. Thanks to a dedicated and caring staff and volunteers, and the monetary contributions of so many compassionate individuals and businesses in our community, we offer our animals the best of care as they await their new forever home.
