My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Molly is the sweetest thing!  She craves attention and is good with other dogs and kids.  She even likes cats. Molly loves human contact and affection. She likes to lean against your legs and stare straight up at you with her loving eyes.  She showed up as a stay with some puppies and the family was unable to keep any of them.  She was only outdoors until we got her but has adjusted well to indoor life.  She is house trained too.  She is more on the high energy side and loves to play and go for walks.  She can also follow simple commands and likes to sit for her treats. Miss Molly is 1-2 years old and weighs 60lbs...she is short and stout, all muscle. This sweet lady deserves a loving home that will smother her with affection. Please come meet her and see if she will be a good fit for you.  If you would like more information, please contact the shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspet.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.

More about this shelter

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 10 individuals and a full-time paid employee shelter manager that handles the day to day operations, and three part-time paid employees that feed and care for the animals and keep the facility clean. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.
