Have you ever felt the need to be humbled about your appearance? Apollo can help! He guarantees that he will look better in every photo you take with him. Named after the Greek god of the sun, Apollo truly brings light into the life of everyone he meets.

Having lived the first year of his life on the street, Apollo is still adjusting to indoor kitty life. His favourite pastime is catching up on all the sleep he missed out on previously. A gentle cat who hasn't yet grasped how to "attack or chase" his toys, he is very good at sharpening his claws on his cat tree.

Sudden movements give him fright and his response is usually to run and hide, but all will be forgiven as long as he gets lots of chin scratches after. Be prepared to share your bed because once Apollo decides you're his family member, he will stand guard beside you every night as you sleep!

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
