If you're searching for a loving best friend.... Mojo is the pup you want to have around! Mojo, at 3 years old and 10 lbs is just naturally a lover (once he feels safe & sound in his environment). When this little guy looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes, your heart can't help but melt.
Mojo is a cute as can be Chihuahua / Fox Terrier mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular breed mixes that make excellent family pets.
Mojo has been through a lot in his short life. He was rescued from the the streets of Texas with another like-sized dog. Both were brought to the local kill shelter and were unable to thrive in the chaos of that environment. The shelter director, known for her big heart when it comes to frightened little dogs, saved both Mojo and his partner from euthanasia. She had enough experience to know that underneath street dirt and very fearful presentations, these were dogs just craving love and kindness. The director, with this in mind, transferred Mojo & his partner to a foster mom that specializes in frightened dogs. Mojo has made great progress under her care and is ready to transport to Boulder on Saturday 1/11/2025.
We expect a bit of a setback for Mojo due to the long transport between Texas and Boulder. but feel certain that with patience and the attention of a loving family, he will blossom. His partner from the streets has already arrived in Boulder and after a few fearful days in his foster home, is absolutely thriving! We are certain Mojo will do the same.
Once comfortable with his new family, Mojo will love to cuddle close on the couch for TV watching or just hanging out with his favorite people will be just about perfect for this loving best friend. An occasional kiss from Mojo is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very sweet dog who, once comfortable, derives so much joy from his time spent with his people and his doggy best friends.
Mojo is a young, playful and silly guy who will love his family with all his heart. He would enjoy another gentle dog to play with, and would love nothing more than to lie together in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day. Mojo will have so much fun exploring and taking long walks along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. He embraces new activities in his Texas foster home with a never-ending positive attitude..
Mojo's rescuer had the following to brag about this sweet little guy:
Harry is a stunning Chihuahua / Fox Terrier mix (breeds are according to Texas vets, we just know he's irresistible!) with a beautiful face and the prettiest and wisest eyes ever. Sweet Mojo is just about 18 months old, weighs 10 lbs and gets more loving, silly and engaging every single day.
Farfel's Rescue would love to see Mojo in a home with a family (older kids 12+ are our choice so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog who will be initially fearful. We'd hate to see Mojo left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home as he seems to be too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Mojo will thrive on spending his time near his people, getting loved up periodically throughout the day.
We'd like to place Mojo in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt Harry to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Mojo arrived at the shelter with a street weary coat. He will require a lifelong commitment to periodic sudsy baths and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep Mojo's coat cottony-soft and shining with great health.
Mojo has been fully vetted and vaccinated in order to earn his interstate health certificate for transport between Texas and Colorado. He has also been neutered to support Farfel's commitment to ending the tragedy of pet overpopulation in the canine community.
Mojo will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 1/11/2025. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Mojo please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
An Adoption Application and an Adoption Contract must be completed before any dog can begin their one week foster. Our average adoption fee is $695. This amount serves to cover vetting, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, temperament testing, transport, a microchip, harness, food, and treats.
Our dogs come from Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and rural Colorado.

Pets are transported from the southern states every week. Almost 100% of the time, the dogs are spoken for as a result of adoption applications that can be referenced under Adoption at farfelsrescue.com. We study the applications. If the app indicates there is a match, followed up by a home visit and reference checks, the process moves to the next step. The adopter is committing to a one week foster (of course the dog can be returned at any time prior), and can then choose to finalize the adoption.

More about this rescue
We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm & Rescue on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.
