Gus is a handsome and easy-going Pitbull/Mix. He is estimated to be around 3yr old, and is medium sized - weighing 50lbs. He is a wonderful boy who would fit well in any house. He is low key, eager to please, and is dog friendly! This sweet guy currently lives with 7 dogs in his foster home. Gus is potty trained, crate trained (12hr), and has excellent leash manners. Gus came to BarkVille Dog Rescue after he was picked up as a stray and spent time at an overcrowded metro Atlanta Shelter, where he eventually ended up on the euthanasia list. His foster Mom has nothing but wonderful things to say about him and how well he's adjusted to life in a home! He is just a big love bug who enjoys being by your side - that can be watching TV together, or going for a quick stroll around the neighborhood. Gus would excel in any household, and will make a loyal companion for a lucky family! He doesn't require a fenced yard, and would be happy living with other dogs or as the only dog. He will bark for a few minutes when he's first left alone (but settles down quickly!), so a condo or apartment may not be ideal for Gus. Gus is currently heartworm positive and is available for a foster to adopt situation until his HW treatment is complete and he is medically cleared for adoption. If you are not familiar with Heartworm disease, dogs get it from mosquitoes and it is not contagious. It is easily prevented and; highly treatable, but requires extended rest during treatment. BarkVille will cover all of his medical expenses while he is being fostered and receiving HW treatment. Gus is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you're interested in fostering to adopt this handsome boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2 hours of the Roswell area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.
