Betts (affectionately known as Rudis) is a sweet 9 month old Australian Cattle Dog (red heeler) mix. Like most heelers/cattle dogs, he is a herder. He will most definantly herd children, so he is not recommended for a home with children in it. He is a working breed. And that would mean ... a well exercised dog like him is a good dog. He would need a "job". That job could be hiking, working on a farm (prey drive would need to be further assessed), long walks on the trails or any active lifestyle. And then, he becomes the biggest couch potato. He is potty trained and crate trained. He enjoys a routine/schedule, which is nice if you work out of the home. Establishing a routine or schedule for him helps! He is simply searching for his fur-ever home that has a lifestyle that keeps him busy and stimulated both physically and mentally and then allows him to nestle onto the couch for an evening of naps.
