My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB 12/15/2023) Gigi is currently in a home with 2 large dogs and a dog savvy cat who she gives a wide berth. Add to that, a yard with chickens and goats which she has learned quickly to be respectful to both. Gigi would thrive in a home in a home with another furry doggie sibling to play with, snuggle with, nap with and just all around be best buddies, so make sure you have another pup looking for the paw-fect new sibling before reading on :). Gigi is loving life in her foster home, and she grows in confidence every day. She is a loveable, loyal, little tank of a girl.

Gigi is food motivated and a fast learner. She is very good at "sit" and "down", and she is working on leash manners. She has also done some group hikes with a local canicross group, and she did great with meeting new dogs.

She is crate trained and sleeps through the night in her crate. Gigi is still young and does love to chew so multiple chew toys are a must. Also because of her age and energy a home with no young children just so she doesn't accidently knock one done, nibble on fingers and toes, and that kind of young typical doggie behavior.

Though she may have had some hard knocks early on, it absoletly didn't dampen her spirit. Plus, bringing her into your life will immediately brighten your spirit, too. She is sweatheart and a gem of a girl just waiting for a fun-loving and fairly active family.

As part of Gigi’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. In addition to the adoption fee, a $100 spay/neuter deposit and puppy spay/neuter agreement will also be required. The deposit will be returned once the puppy is altered. If you wish to adopt Gigi, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
