Meet Dacksoon! She is a sweet and petite 10 lb five-year-old female dachshund we rescued from a puppy mill in Busan, South Korea, which we shut down in October. Learn more about her rescue mission by watching this video.
Adopting a puppy mill survivor like Dacksoon has unique rewards and responsibilities. She has shown incredible resilience and a bright spirit, but dogs from these backgrounds often require patience and time to decompress and adjust to a loving home. She is working on her potty training and will need time and training to help her accomplish this. While Dacksoon is currently healthy and has received excellent veterinary care, potential adopters should be aware of the genetic predispositions common in dogs from such environments, including IVDD (Intervertebral disc disease), luxating patellas, heart conditions, dental issues, etc., that could arise later in life, and prepare both financially and mentally to help Dacksoon live an everyday happy life.
