INTRODUCING STUART LITTLE!

Just a tiny kitten, maybe 3 weeks old, when he was rescued, Stuart Little was much too small to be away from his mother. Jose, our wonderful volunteer, had seen him outside and brought him to us. He was terribly emaciated and dehydrated but thankfully had no other health issues. We soon realized he was obsessive about eating though, having very nearly starved to death. He needed to eat quite a bit to get to a healthy weight, but he just didn't know when enough was enough. He soon became as round as a (very small) beach ball. Goodness, we'd never seen a kitten so roly-poly before! A trip to the vet and an ultrasound confirmed that there was nothing wrong with him other than he was stuffing himself like a Thanksgiving turkey. As you can see from his pictures, he's still a chubby little fellow, but he's getting better control over his food intake and has become very playful and downright hilarious. His favorite games are playing with the ball in the racetrack and chasing his own tail. Oh, and he's the self-appointed Litter Box Cleaning Supervisor. For some reason he finds that fascinating and does his best to turn that chore into a game. What a character! He gets along great with other cats and we're sure will do just fine with cat friendly canines too, once he gets to know them. Since he's been bunking with other kittens since we got him, he'd be happiest with a kitty buddy or two in his new home. If you don't happen to already have one on hand, we have plenty of great kitties who would love to accompany him home.
