My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Spooky is a cute female kitten who was brought to HSOV on July 5, 2024 along with her two sisters (Boo and Casper) after they were found in the Little Hocking Ohio area. They were one-day old/newborn babies at that time without their mother in sight.

One of our compassionate HSOV kennel techs (Lauryn Hamilton) immediately bottlefed the three newborn kittens but, in spite of heroic efforts, Casper passed away on July 6th. Boo and Spooky were placed with Paxil (a mother cat who had given birth to a litter of kittens) but Boo passed away on July 8th.

So Spooky was the sole survivor (thanks to Lauryn and also to Paxil who managed to nurse Spooky for the next few weeks). Spooky was eventually placed with another mother cat (Pepperoni) who raised Spooky with her kittens. It truly took a 'village' to save little Spooky!

Spooky has a black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a black button nose, and long black whiskers.

Spooky was given vaccinations and Panacur wormer on October 12, 2024. She weighed 2.23 lbs that day. Spooky was given booster vaccines on October 26th and November 15, 2024.

We took first 'big girl' photos of Spooky on October 14th, and she looked adorable playfully bouncing around our studio and sitting in a wicker basket. Those photos have been printed and will be in her adoption package.

Spooky and another 'sole survivor' female kitten (Rani) have been sharing a cage for the past two months or so and have become best friends. They are being listed as a bonded pair since we feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted together.

These photos of Spooky were taken on December 17, 2024 when HSOV Lead Feline Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton accompanied Spooky and Rani in our 'studio' for updated photos. Spooky was much more interested in playtime and zooming amongst the holiday decor instead of posing for boring still-life photos. This little sweetheart is living life to the fullest these days (which we absolutely love)!

Spooky and Rani will be spayed (tentatively in late January 2025) before being adopted by their new family.
