My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Howdy from Texas, I’m a good-looking Shepherd mix named James. I’m almost 4 years old, I weigh 64 lbs and I was pulled by a dog rescuer from a San Antonio Animal Shelter and then left abandoned at a boarding facility. A few months later a nice lady came to pick me up and she is now my foster mom. Unfortunately, some really good dogs get overlooked and left behind, like me! I’m a super cool dude, not only friendly, but I’ve got an easygoing vibe, wagging and happy to make friends with everyone I meet. My foster mom says I must have been someone's house dog because I already know how to do some stuff. I sit for a doggie treat, and I give a paw, both right and left, and maybe some other fun tricks I haven't done yet. I get totally happy when I see the leash come out because I love going for walks and I’m always excited to go for a ride in the car. I’m a people pleaser with a medium energy level, and I’m not embarrassed to say I’m a sweetheart. My foster mom says I’m smart and learn quickly and that some lucky person will be mighty proud making me their forever dog. East Coast families, inquire about me today!

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
