My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Luka!

8-year-old Luka has the special distinction of being the final dog we rescued in 2024. He had been surrendered 15 months earlier to the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

Luka had been overlooked due to his age and breed, but thanks to the shelter staff’s dedication—teaching him tricks, providing comprehensive veterinary care, and advocating for him—he was given a fighting chance.

It was a bittersweet moment when our volunteers arrived to give Luka his Freedom Ride, as the entire shelter staff came out to send him off.

Please drop by to meet this wonderful boy between 10 AM and 3 PM any day of the week. Luka can't wait to meet you!
