Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
December is a young, sweet pup bursting with energy and eager to learn. While she may need some guidance to polish her manners, her enthusiasm and love for treats make her a fantastic candidate for training. She knows “sit” but can’t stay still for long—she’s too excited to show off her goofy personality!
This playful girl loves to run in circles, hop into laps, and solicit pets, showing her affectionate and silly side. Though she can be a bit nervous with sudden movements, she quickly bounces back with reassurance and continues her wiggly antics. December is very responsive on her leash and willing to please, making her a joy to walk.
If you’re looking for a silly, fun-loving firefly of a dog who will keep you laughing, December is ready to light up your life!
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet December at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering her.

Behavior notes:
Per volunteer 1/1/25: Pictures do not do December justice! She is absolutely gorgeous but difficult to photograph being so wiggly.
December is a 10-12 month old lilac colored baby who is sweet as she is silly. She is excellent with other dogs, submissive, tolerant and playful. She is skinny and under weight —- once she knows you have treats she’s focused on having more. Some puppy mouthing over it but with some direction can learn some manners. I wouldn’t place with children at least until she’s over that hump. She loves people, seeks them out and approaches for attention and walks well on leash. She also has great kennel presence.
Walksheet notes as of 12/31: December was taken on a walk by volunteers on 12/30 and 12/31. December showed no issues with kennel, leash, shyness, or mouthing. Volunteers noted mild issues with jumping but also noted this can be attributed to norma puppy behavior. December had medium energy on 12/30 and 12/31. December is described as sweet, good on leash, and treat motivated.
12/30/24 volunteer notes: December and I took such a nice walk! She’s very responsive to leash pressure and would come back towards me when I didn’t want her to go in a direction. She took treats excitedly but nothing concerning. If anything she appears young and eager to do training but hasn’t had any yet. She can be a little snatchy with the treats she loves. Very sweet pup!

BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: December
KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
In the kennel, December was curled in a ball and came right up to the door with soft eyes and a wagging tail. She jumped up on the bars but then sniffed the leash a lot when I reached in. She backed away the more I tried to leash her and was a bit nervous but with some treats I was able to secure her.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately
HANDLING:
In the room, December was like a wiggly and goofy puppy. She has so much energy and is a super firefly girl. She went right up on my lap and solicited for pets. She allowed all over handling and was a bit snatchy with treats. She knows sit but doesn't stay still for long and will jump up for the treats. She is a super wiggly and goofy girl, running around in circles and being very clumsy over herself and the handler. She got a little nervous when I was running around for play and went close to her, backing up and cowering but came back to me realizing she was ok.
