My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Phoebe and Monty are two senior sweetie pies looking for a loving place to call their own. They came to SAVE when their owner could no longer care for them, and we're grateful to be part of their journey to find their perfect retirement homes.

Both Phoebe and Monty are outgoing and confident, ready to make themselves right at home with you. Their calm and loving demeanors make them ideal companions for anyone seeking cuddles and a quieter presence in their life.

If you're ready to welcome a seasoned snuggle buddy into your heart, these two are a must to meet. These two are proof that seniors still have so much love to give!

**To connect senior citizens with our adoptable senior pets who need love and a new home, SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals offers a "Seniors for Seniors" program. Through this program, SAVE will waive adoption fees for senior citizens (65 years and older) who are willing to welcome one of our mature (8 years and older) cats or dogs into their heart and home.**

If you are interested in adopting please fill out an application on our website, savehomelessanimals.org. SAVE is operating by appointment only for approved adopters. For more information please call SAVE at 609-309-5214.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
