Take the Pet Home
Callie is an incredibly sweet and sensitive girl who has been a joy in her current home. She’s the perfect apartment dog and an absolute wiggle butt who loves snuggling and sharing her quirky personality. Callie would make a fantastic guard dog, as she only barks at unfamiliar sounds; otherwise, it’s all happy snorts and cuddles! She’s been accident-free since arriving and has proven to be a well-mannered houseguest.
Callie enjoys spending time in her kennel and often retreats there on her own, even when her humans are home. She loves being near her people, happily following them around the house during chores or downtime—Callie thrives on closeness and connection! While her size keeps her from counter surfing, she’s clever and opportunistic, so you’ll want to keep an eye on tempting goodies.
She’s a little fashionista, happily rocking cozy clothes, and hates the cold, making her prompt with outdoor potty breaks. Callie has been calm and well-behaved in the car and on visits to quiet public places like PetSmart, showing no issues with other dogs or people in controlled environments. Around calm dogs, she mirrors their relaxed demeanor, though she can be reactive with barky or jumpy dogs.
Callie takes time to warm up to new people. She prefers to sniff and assess before being touched, and with patience, she opens up beautifully. She eats and drinks with gusto, but her messiness can be easily managed with a towel under her bowls.
It’s important to note that Callie would do best in an adult-only home. She has a history of resource guarding her people and displayed inappropriate behavior around children in a prior home. Slow, supervised introductions to other dogs have been mixed, so she may do best as the only pet. Additionally, due to her stature, she may require medical maintenance for potential arthritis as she ages.
Callie’s sensitive nature, loyalty, and snuggly personality make her a truly special companion for the right home.
Calie is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
