My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ms. PURDY is an exceptional companion. She’s fully potty trained and sleeps soundly through the night, barking only on rare occasions. She is very calm and non-reactive.

Her crate is her sanctuary; she often gathers her toys and plays inside with the door left open.

Affectionate and attention-loving, she knows the “sit” command and, when told “down,” eagerly rolls over for belly rubs.

Ms. PURDY excels at fetch and responds well to “let loose,” though she also enjoys a friendly game of tug-of-war.

She requires an adopter prepared to manage her allergies, but in all other aspects, she is truly perfect.

Additionally, she effortlessly jumps into the car and rides calmly. She walks well on a leash and has no issues stepping onto the scales at the vet’s office.

She loves peanut butter, blue berries, bananas and apples. PURDY is very affectionate, and requires a medium amount of exercise.

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
