Name: Muffin
Animal ID: 242307
Gender: Female/Jenny
Age: 12 years old
Breed: Miniature Donkey
Height: 9hh
Adoption Fee: $300
Location: Houston
Adopter experience needed: Intermediate
Training level: Halter Broke.
Current assessment and personality: Muffin is a very shy mini donkey that will require an adopter to continue her training. She arrived to us shut down and not wanting to interact with people. She has come a long way in the time she has been with us however if she is not handled everyday, her training will quickly regress. We currently have her in a breakaway halter with a catch lead attached in a smaller paddock as she can be very difficult to catch. You unfortunately cannot walk up to her quickly to catch her. You need to be slow and patient. Muffin is not the type of companion that you can leave out in the field and catch every so often. She will require a committed adopter willing to provide her with the socialization she needs to continue to trust people.
Potential: Companion Only
Health/lameness: Muffin arrived in our care severely overweight. It is extremely important for her health that her new adopters continue her current diet/weight loss regimen and do not allow her to gain more weight.
Loads and Trailers: Yes, but still in training.
Leads: Yes
Catch in pasture: No, currently in training.
Stands for farrier: Yes however in training.
Ties: Yes
Bathes: In training
