Pepper appears to be fearful and may not have had much human interaction up to this point. During the assessment he is tense and tense and frozen, slightly avoidant of touch, with eyes wide and dilated, and body low and ready to flee, and would benefit from extra socialization. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents who are preferably familiar with kitten socialization or are open to detailed counseling by staff. Contact with young children should be avoided or done under strict supervision to prevent provoking a fear response, further delaying socialization.

I would do best in a home with only adult humans.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

Animal Care Centers of NYC encourages everyone to come to one of our three full service Care Centers when looking to adopt a pet. Beautiful dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rabbits are anxiously waiting a home to call their own.

All ACC adoptions include vaccinations, a microchip, spay/neuter, one month of free pet health insurance, and a free office visit at a participating veterinarian.
