My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little cutie is Remi, an adorable 17pound, 4 year old, Jack Russell Terrier mix who is as docile and sweet as they come!  Remi absolutely loves his people and loves other dogs - especially enjoying cuddling with them. He is a playful, active pup who is also well behaved in the home.

Remi came to our rescue after he was surrendered to an animal control as a stray when a supposed “good samaritan” (who we suspect was his owner) said he suffered from seizures. While in foster care we have witnessed one seizure which happened when he was in a stressful situation - going to the groomer. After examination, our vets suggested that Remi most likely suffers from canine idiopathic epilepsy - meaning he may have seizures periodically with no known cause or reason. Therefore, we have placed him on a very high quality CBD/CBG oil to reduce the likelihood of seizures, and it is working well. His condition has NOT stopped him from being a happy-go-lucky dog.  (https://www.akcchf.org/canine-health/top-health-concerns/epilepsy/AKCCHF-Understanding-Canine-Epilepsy-2017.pdf)

Remi requires a home with adults or adults with kids over 12; we think young children’s activity and noise level might be too stressful for Remi’s condition. In addition, Remi would do best having someone home more throughout the day, including a fellow canine. This sweet dog deserves an adopter who will care for and spoil him like he deserves.

This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, received inoculations, was tested for intestinal parasites, dewormed, tested for heartworm disease and tick-borne diseases, neutered, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST from acaringplace@comcast.net  The online application is not working on our website.

More about this rescue

A Caring Place, is an All Breed Dog Rescue organization that is exclusively foster based (no facility) and is volunteer run. We rescue dogs and puppies from animal control facilities, dog pounds, and other shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia. In addition we take in dogs surrendered by their owners who can or are no longer willing to care for their dog. Each dog this rescue takes in receives all medical care and treatment necessary to be healthy, and then place them into loving temporary homes (foster homes) until adopted. Without our foster care provider's, we could not save these dogs.

FOSTER CARE PROVIDERS are always needed!
