Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Mama Chessie was left alone in a rural shelter during a tornado watch delivering puppies. Our amazing volunteers weathered the storm to bust her out of there and get her and her newborn pups safe and warm.
Chessie is just a pup herself at barely 2 years old and only 25 lbs! She’s a small gal! (Her babies were dna tested and the top 3 breeds were dachshund, chihuahua, and toy/mini poodle)
Chessie also came with health problems that unfortunately couldn’t be addressed while she was nursing her newborn pups. Over the past few months, she has finished heartworm treatment and received physical therapy for an iliopsoas strain. Neither of which hinder her quality of life currently or in the future!
Mama Chessie has been with us for almost 8 months and is now healthy and ready to find her forever family! Chessie would do best in a home with no cats. She also requires slow introductions to other dogs so would do best in a home with no dogs or with an experienced dog owner who understands slow introductions and has a dog that is mellow and dog-neutral.
