My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gray and white Marie came to Heartland as the mother of four lovely orange kittens (they must have looked like their dad!) and one tabby. She did an excellent job raising her kittens, but is now spayed, and is ready for some "me time" in a new, forever home of her own. Marie is a sweet girl, just 3 years old. Her foster says "Marie is a sweet, quiet kitty that can be shy at times. She is highly motivated by treats and loves her playtime. Marie gets along with other cats and dogs but would prefer a quiet home."

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. You can also contact us directly regarding a pet seen here and we will set up a time for you to meet them in person. Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
