My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Betty Boop is a 32 lb spayed female dog that is Heartworm negative and current on all core vaccines. She is likely a Boxer/ Staffordshire Terrier mix that is likely 2 years old according to a veterinarian . She is friendly with dogs and people but does not like a dog right in her face. She will correct an energetic dog in her face initially but then became best friends with the same pup! Boop was about to be put down in the San Antonio kill shelter due to lack of space. So we pulled her and brought her to our rescue in Pa. We still have to cat test her soon to see if she is friendly with cats! She is a very sweet girl and deserves a loving home! Their adoption process

Submit Application

Inquiry can be made about a pet by emailing casey@rescuepetsservingvets.org and/or calling 570-441-0083. Application then emailed to adopter

2.
Interview

Vet reference check is done if they have or had previous pets and applicant is interviewed on phone as well to insure compatibility

3.
Meet the Pet

A meet and greet is set up with potential adopter and pet at a agreed upon location

4.
Home Check

Home visit is required to check the safety of the home where pet will be adopted into.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Owner completes an adoption contract and I visit pet within a week at the new home.

For now an application can be emailed to a person interested in adopting a pet until I can finish setting up website and links.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers that rescue pets with medical needs from a kill shelter. We treat them at our associated Vet clinic and make sure they are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. Pets are then put up for adoption and we try and match them with the right owners. We give special priority to veterans and we begin service dog training while pets are with us. Pets are fostered in our homes or at the Veterinary Clinic until homes are found.
