Sarah is a gentle and serene 6-year-old miniature poodle weighing 10 pounds, whom we rescued from the Busan Puppy Mill. She endured extreme abuse at the mill, resulting in the loss of her left eye due to unknown trauma before her rescue. The loss of one eye doesn't affect Sarah's ability to live an everyday life; she is thriving in foster care! Learn more about her rescue mission by watching this video.

Adopting a puppy mill survivor like Sarah has unique rewards and responsibilities. She has shown incredible resilience and a bright spirit, but dogs from these backgrounds often require patience and time to decompress and adjust to a loving home. While Sarah is currently healthy and has received excellent veterinary care, potential adopters should be aware of the genetic predispositions common in dogs from such environments, including luxating patellas, heart conditions, dental issues, etc., that could arise later in life, and prepare both financially and mentally to help Sarah live an everyday happy life.

Korean K9 Rescue is a volunteer-driven No-Kill dog rescue organization based in Queens, New York and Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, South Korea As a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, we transport homeless and mistreated dogs from South Korea and place them with loving forever families, primarily in New York City, Boston, and Los Angeles. Because of an unfortunate stigma surrounding mixed-breed dogs–and the dog meat trade that persists within the country–many dogs in South Korea are unlikely to be adopted at home and are in grave danger of being euthanized.
