Dog Name: Ameline
Breed: Mixed
Sex: Female
Age: 1 year
Weight: ~60 lbs
Medical Needs: none
Housebroken: yes, absolutely
Crate trained: yes, she goes in willingly. When she knows you’re home she will carry on if you’re awake and not taking her out. She sleeps without a noise through the night.
Good in the car: Ameline is currently timid about hopping in, but once she’s in there she’s a perfect passenger princess
Good on a leash: she is still learning and a prong goes a long way. Without it she will try to pull you.
Energy level: Ameline thinks she’s a 10 lb puppy in a 60 lb body. Once she’s comfortable she will do zoomies and you’ll find out why her nickname is “baby deer” as she turns into a runner and a track star.
Need a fenced in yard: not if you’re exceptionally active (aka you’re one of those people that go jogging every day in the winter for fun). If you just gagged a little thinking about running that much… then a 6’ fence is a requirement.
Dog Friendly: Yes, with a slow intro. She is shy and apprehensive at first so you and your resident dog will have to be patient. Once she becomes comfortable, she’s all in for tag and wrestling.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No
Cat Friendly: Yes, there are very dog-savvy cats in her foster home. She thinks they are tiny dog friends to be played with and chase. If this is not your cat’s vibe, Ameline would not be a good fit.
Kid Friendly: Yes
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 8+… as mentioned she is going to be very timid and unsure when she first gets to you. Your kid will have to be old enough to understand that Ameline needs space. And also old enough to not get knocked over when she’s playing.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them:
Ameline came from Texas, was adopted, and is now back (through no fault of her own)… all before her first birthday. All the changes have made her a little anxious and timid when she first meets people and enters a home. Once she warms up to you she will be spunky, playful, affectionate and want to be attached at your hip for head scritches when she’s not a speeding bullet.
Ameline LOVES her schedules, and is more strict with times and alerts than any military leader out there. She is quickly learning manners (how to sit, walk nicely on a leash, and not cause a ruckus in her crate).
If you’re looking for a young, happy, energetic doggo, and love having a willing student to train, Ameline is here waiting for you to apply!
