My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oreo-Your Couch Companion and Playtime Superstar!
If you're looking for a laid-back, affectionate feline friend with just the right mix of independence and cuddle charm, Oreo might be the one for you! At 8 years young, she's the perfect blend of calm and spunky. When its playtime, watch out-Oreo loves chasing after fluff balls and cat toys, zooming around like a tiny tornado on a slippery floor (she's basically a pro at the feline ice-capades.)
But when she's not busy with her zoomies, Oreo is a champion couch potato. She'll happily curl up next to you, basking in some love and attention.
Oreo enjoys living with her feline roomy, Sugar. They both love to play, groom and watch the world together.
If you are looking for double the purrs and loving felines, Oreo and Sugar will make your home a purrfect sanctuary, please fill out our cat application below.

The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
