Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Rusty is a spirited and playful pup who’s ready to be your adventure partner! He loves attention, leans in for pets, and gives the best tail wags. While he’s full of energy and curiosity—he quickly turns his focus to his people for affection and playtime.
Rusty knows how to “sit,” takes treats gently, and engages enthusiastically in play. With moderate leash pulling, he’d thrive with an active family or a running partner who can channel his zest for life. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion, Rusty is your guy!
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Rusty at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.
Videos: Rusty and Hoagie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJaeekkBCPI
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
When approaching, Rusty was at the front staring out the door. He was play bowing, smacking the door with his paws, barking. He continued to do this when the handler tried to leash him and was very difficult to leash and kept playing and running back and forth. Eventually the handler was able to get the leash over his head and he exited easily once leashed.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately
HANDLING:
In the room Rusty sniffed around the room and did a perimeter check, exit searching. Afterwards he came back up to his main handler and solicited attention. He allowed all over handling and would lean in while petting him and giving mid level wags. He was a bit sensitive to his legs and tail being touched and would pull them away when touching them but never tensed or escalated. He took treats gently when offered and showed knowledge of sit.
PLAY:
Engages in play
TOYS:
Releases willingly
