My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tank! Tank is a larger-than-life, 6 year-old French bulldog (literally – he’s 38 pounds of pure love and fun!) with all the lovable traits you’d expect from a Frenchie: ridiculously handsome, goofy, affectionate, and a total social butterfly. Anyone who meets Tank is smitten on the spot, and he’s equally obsessed with every person he encounters!

Tank is still a youngster with puppy energy to spare and a big heart to match. He’s learning the ropes of being a proper gentleman and picking things up quickly! His foster family has him on a routine to keep him on track – during the day, he gets frequent walks and does great. At night, he has his own setup in the kitchen with a crate (door open) and a wee-wee pad for potty needs. When he visits a home with a backyard, he’s already mastered heading to the back door when nature calls. With consistency and positive reinforcement, Tank is sure to thrive in any environment!

This strong boy is still learning to harness his energy while on leash— Tank pulls with enthusiasm and gets excited by everything around him, from people to passing dogs and objects. He’s looking for a family with patience to help him with leash training and channel his excitement into good behavior.

Tank loves to play, and his style is big, bouncy, and enthusiastic. Because of this, he’d do great with another dog in the home to be his playmate. He’s also a toy aficionado (big chewer alert!) and can demolish a bone in record time. Tank does well with children and is generally very gentle with them, though may occasionally give a little love nibble!

If you’re ready to welcome a big-hearted, big-energy, and big-smiles kind of pup, Tank might be your perfect match. Are you ready to make this sweetheart part of your family?

Tank is currently being fostered in Montclair, NJ, and his adoption fee is $600.

Tank is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
