My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella is an 8 1/2 year old, 15 lb Poodle who was surrendered to Legacy Humane Society when her family moved. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Bella doesn't shed but will require regular, professional grooming to stay healthy and comfortable. Please consider this added expense when applying to adopt. She is house and crate trained.

Bella would do best as an only pet with someone who lives in a quiet home. She warms up to her person quickly, but can be a bit protective of them. We don't think she's a great match for children, or people who have lots of visitors. She's very affectionate and loves to be right by her foster Mom's side. Once she finds her person, she's loyal and loving!

We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be up to date current on Heartworm prevention and S/N. If a home visit is needed, we will complete that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fees are listed here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-fees/. There is a 5-day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family. A full refund will be issued if the pet is returned within the 5-day trial period.
