Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Josie, our sweet and lovable Basset Hound-Pit mix with a heart full of potential! At just 1 ½ years old and weighing 34 pounds, Josie may have short Basset legs, but she's got a big personality and an even bigger heart. While she may take a few minutes to warm up to new faces, once she feels comfortable, Josie is all about love and companionship.
Josie would make a wonderful addition to any home, especially if you're looking for a furry friend with a great sense of security—she’s always quick to bark when someone approaches! Josie gets along well with other dogs and would thrive in a home where she can feel safe and cared for.
Her adoption fee of $110 includes spaying and all vaccinations, so she'll be ready to join your family. If you're interested in meeting Josie and seeing her charming personality for yourself, please call the shelter at 256-362-5856 to schedule an appointment.
Give Josie the loving home she deserves—she’s waiting to become your loyal companion!

More about this shelter
We are the Animal Control Facility for the City of Talladega. We provide animal control services for the entire county of Talladega excluding the city limits of Lincoln, Sylacauga, and Childersburg. We work with lots of rescues all over the US and Canada. We do some local adoptions but don't have many people come in locally looking to adopt. A lot of our pets are transferred to our rescue partners. We do accept donations of cleaning supplies, dry cat/kitten, dry dog/puppy food, cat litter, and chew toys. We are also always looking for short term foster homes for our pets going to rescues. Usually it's only for a 2-4 week period before the pet leaves for his/her rescue. If you are interested feel free to contact us at 256-362-5856
