Georgia ~ came to ARC because her guardian could no longer care for her. When she first arrived at ARC, she was a little shy. Recently she is more comfortable with her surroundings and is spending most of her time on the screened in area enjoying watching everything going on outside her house. Given a little more time, we feel sure she will turn out to be a snuggling kitty, seeking attention from all that visit her house.

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
