Meet Julius, a beautiful 2-year-old presumed male canary.

Julius is not hand-tamed - he prefers to stay in his cage, sitting on his favorite mirror perch.

It’s okay to reach into his house to change out the food and water, but he’s not too fond of fingers directly in front of him.

He also likes to use the water bowl as his bathtub.

Julius has a beautiful singing voice and likes to entertain everyone with brief melodic songs throughout the day.

He also talks back and forth with his other feathered housemates and isn’t bothered by the dog in his foster home.

He’s currently on a pellet mix diet and hasn’t shown much interest in treats.

Julius is currently being fostered in Manahawkin, NJ.
We do not ship our adoptable birds.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
As our adoptable birds are living in volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.

The adoption procedure begins with completing an adoption application and returning it to us. We will check your references and then call you for a telephone interview. While we check your references, we will ask that you review an educational power point presentation. After your application is approved, it is our policy that you visit with the bird(s) three times to have multiple interactions with them and give you time to consider the adoption and get ready for your new family member. There is an adoption fee for each bird.

For the Love of Birds is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of companion birds. We are a network of volunteers throughout New Jersey, and surrounding areas. We take in birds in need of new homes, and place them in nurturing and educational foster homes until a loving new family is found.
