Let us introduce you to the tiny, sweetheart named Tundra. Tundra found her way to animal control as a stray. As promised... We waited until her stray hold was up and went back for this little one. She only weighs 33lbs. She's very much all skin and bones and we'll work to get her nourished. Her coat has a bit of a wave to it and her ears stand more forward than a Husky so we believe she's a mix. We call her the little fox. LOL!

Tundra comes across as timid when she first meets you, but she's anything but! She's truly a little spitfire. Tundra will need a home with other playful canines. She loves to play, play, play and her playstyle is all Husky. She can hold her own against Huskies twice her size. She's also very sweet with people and enjoys hugs. Tundra knows a few basic commands and is well mannered indoors. She's a little timid in the car and needs reassurance, but if she has a dog pal along for the ride she'll do better. She'd likely do best in a home without small children as they may overwhelm her. Quieter kids (not yelling and screaming) would be best for her demeanor.

Tundra is crate trained and housebroken. She's a bit of a picky eater, true to the breed, but once on a schedule she usually eats pretty well. Tundra is spayed, microchipped, healthy and current on her vaccines. She loves to share her opinions with you and the other dogs. She enjoys taking sniffs in on her walks and will entertain herself with bones and toys. She's moderate energy for a Husky and will really make a great addition to nearly any home, as long as she has a young, playful canine friend. If you're interested in Tundra and do not have other dogs already, she's made several friends in her foster home and we'd be happy to recommend her and a pal.

Tundra is located in MD and just a true joy to have around. We'd prefer anyone wanting to adopt her visit her in MD but transport can be provided for a compatible home if need be.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

Additional adoption info

Our application can be seen here: www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have visiting hours.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
