Say hello to Stewie, aka Stew, aka little old man! Shhh, don't tell him that he is too old because he has tons of life left. Stewie was abandoned in a home with his baby mama and two offspring who are in another Fuzzy Pawz foster home.
Stew is great with other dogs and cats having lived with both in foster. He also shared a foster home with a teenage boy who he adored. He likes to roll around the grass after a potty and enjoys snuggling in his bed and laying in the sun.
Stewie uses a pet door reliably, but does have an issue with some marking in the house. If necessary, he wears a belly band like a champ! These events are become rarer and rarer in his foster home as he gets more comfortable.
He likes to sleep in your bedroom where he comfortably will hang out in his crate or in your bed. Stewie likes to have a blanket to burrow under wherever he sleeps.
Health-wise, other than having a minor heart murmur, Stewie is reportedly going strong. His heart condition is a low enough grade that he does not need medication and it does not affect his quality of life. He does have some minor arthritis that he is on medication for and a cough (medicated) that is from a collapsing trachea. He recently had bloodwork done and will need his liver values retested in 3-6 months. He just had a dental, when twenty teeth were removed.
He is a super sweet boy who is just looking for an amazing family to live out the rest of his life with.

More about this rescue
We are a group of animal lovers banded together to rescue unwanted dogs and cats that are in shelters and pounds located throughout Idaho. Our non-profit rescue places each animal into our foster home program while we search for forever homes for them. We supply all vet care, food, toys, bedding; really anything they need while in our care.
We focus on those animals that are considered “hard to adopt” for various reasons; like kennel stress, having a black coat, being over 8 years old, etc. Often a foster home rather than a shelter environment helps give many of these animals a second chance at the life they deserve!
We relay on community donations and individuals willing to be foster care givers in order to continue our work.
