My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tracy is a friendly and affectionate cat, though she can be shy and fearful in new environments, particularly in the shelter setting. While she is initially hesitant and may retreat, she is affectionate once she feels comfortable and can be quite talkative. Tracy enjoys rubbing against people's hands, meowing to solicit attention, and spending time with her humans. She also enjoys being a lap cat, but can become more independent if she feels overwhelmed.

Her behavior toward strangers and other cats suggests that she may need some time to adjust to new situations. Tracy has shown signs of stress when interacting with other cats, such as growling, hissing, and swatting, and tends to avoid them. She can be fearful during extended handling, and her behavior may escalate if she feels cornered, which can lead to fear aggression. Tracy will feel more at ease if given the space and time to adjust at her own pace.

Tracy does have some behavioral challenges, including occasionally urinating on fabric materials and scratching furniture. However, she enjoys interactive play and can be redirected to appropriate scratching posts or toys. She is also known to be a bit squirmy during brushing and when being placed in a carrier, so it's important to be gentle and patient with her.

Tracy would do best in an adult-only home where her boundaries are respected and her adopters are prepared to provide the time and space she needs to settle in. Experienced cat owners familiar with fearful or anxious behavior will be ideal for helping Tracy adjust and thrive in her new home. Tracy is best suited for a home without other cats.
